I’ve been getting into the spring cleaning fever and when I found my rather mostly-empty jewellery box under a pile of paper, I knew that I had to sort out my jewellery too! My jewellery was pretty much scattered around the house – next to my bed, taken off by the sink, under the dressing table – you get the idea.  So I spent some time gathering it all together and finally getting it organised again – even finding jewellery I haven’t seen in a while.

Most of us have jewellery that we love but we rarely take the time to keep it in tip-top condition. You’d be amazed by how wonderful your favourite jewellery can look after a quick spring clean – the great news is it’s actually really easy to do. Here’s my super-easy guide to spring-cleaning your jewellery:

The first thing is to clean your jewellery box. Empty the contents of your jewellery box onto a flat surface and give it a good clean. Tip out any dust, wipe down the lid and get it looking smart – you’re more likely to put your jewellery in the right place if the box looks good, right?

I had a good laugh reading this . . .

In New Mexico a group of friends went out for a milkshake to the local cafe. All the friends knew that Reed was going to propose, just not how things would turn out . . .

Reed Harris took the engagement ring and plopped it into her frothy milkshake.  Their friends were eager for Kaitlin to hurry up and finish her milkshake so they challenged her to a race.  So Kaitlin finished her drink but she didn’t notice any ring. Reed was a little worried – especially when he checked the glass and still couldn’t find the ring!  He told her about the ring and she said she had felt nothing . . .

So off they went on a trip to the local hospital when the proof was in the pudding – imagine how shocked she must have been to see this X-ray image! At home with a picture of the X-ray in hand, Reed finally got on one knee and proposed (without the ring).  Two days later the ring finally made an appearance and Kaitlin finally got to see how beautiful it was – don’t worry, she said yes!

I know I just wrote a little article about engagement rings recently. But it’s the first day of spring and I’m in a happy romantic sort of mood and I just came across some hot news in the Celebrity Land …

Her actor boyfriend Owen Benjamin has proposed to Christina after seeing each other for the past six months.  She was seen wearing this beautiful diamond ring on Wednesday whilst leaving a drugstore. The pretty flower shape makes a charming alternative to solitaire rings – the cluster of diamonds means you get glamorous sparkle at a fraction of the cost.

Hot off the fashion press is the news that US designer Marc Jacobs just got engaged to his ad executive boyfriend, Lorenzo Martone.  Can’t wait to see their rings – Marc’s recent accessories and jewellery collection have been stunning, so I’m sure they will come up with something really special.

Ah, spring is in the air and it looks like we can expect a glittering wedding season this year – and one full of diamonds too!

Isn’t this pink car just beautiful? I saw the photo and read about it and had to share it with you… Paris Hilton bought this hot pink Bentley as a Christmas present for herself (who else?!?) Everything, both inside and out is pink, even the grill! Her initials have been put on the famous Bentley badge.  But she obviously wanted a drive with a girls’ best friend so she  spent £400,000 on a diamond-studded dashboard.   What a way to drive to work!

Talking about cars and grills I came across this little luxury (if you are into hip-hop that is!)  It’s another type of grill – a grill for your teeth.  It’s the most expensive grill and made by Paul Wall. After making a mouth mould at your local dentist, you can then get a grill made out of 18kt white or yellow gold with white or rose-pink diamonds.

I’ve been spending most of the day outdoors – the weather is finally taking a turn for the better!  That must be why there is suddenly more news on recent engagements and weddings – love is really in the air with spring around the corner…

Two popular singers and songwriters Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have tied the knot after just getting engaged a month ago…  The ceremony took eight minutes and had a grand total of one guest – who just happened to be the priest!  They exchanged silver wedding rings which they had bought from a local jeweler down the road.  Mandy wore a simple cream dress while her intended went for his usual clothes – t-shirt, sport coat and trainers.

While we’re writing about marriages, Justin Timberlake (singer and actor) and Jessica Biel (actress) who got engaged about five months ago are still on the hunt for the perfect engagement ring.  So far nothing seems to have caught Justin’s eye.  But rest assured, the minute he picks one and presents it to his future bride, I will post up a picture. It had better be worth it after such a long wait.

While we’re writing about rings… maybe Justin would want this ring for his fiancé… it costs just over 16 million dollars and is known as the Chopard Ring.  The oval blue diamond weighs just nine carats with diamond shoulders and an 18kt gold band studded in diamonds.  That should impress her!!
